History of Hampton Manor

Hampton Manor is a registered historic estate with origins dating back to 1664. The mansion, completed in 1825, rises from the second highest elevation in Calvert County—just 30 minutes from Washington, D.C. For generations, it was home to some of Maryland’s most prominent political families. Showcasing classic American architecture of the late Federal and early Greek Revival eras, Hampton Manor today stands as a living testament to the elegance and grandeur of the 19th century, featuring:

Our Partnership

Hampton Manor has long partnered with an important local nonprofit, Freedom Hill Horse Rescue. Freedom Hill maintains its headquarters and operations on the grounds of Hampton Manor.

The mission of Freedom Hill is to save older, abused and severely neglected horses to rehabilitate and provide lifelong sanctuary with dedicated daily care and love.
